Tried out different color pallets and scene ideas using some bold primary colors. My client decided they felt the pallet from the Lion King's "Be Prepared" song was the best match for the character.

Designed the background using the color pallet, adding additional blues to better saturate the scene.

Slapped together some loose rendering of the character, and slowly rendered detail in. In this stage mostly just focusing on depth and contrast. I also felt the leg looked wrong and didn't flow with the rest of the piece, so it was adjusted in this stage.
